How We Met
In mid 2003, I was working at Smokey Bones in Boca. One night, towards the end of my shift, I was sat with a table of two PBSO deputies and thought to myself, "score...good tip about come", the cops usually tipped well. While I was serving the table, a co-worker was at my table talking to them, and introduced me. One of them who I was instantly attracted to, Bert. From that night on, I would randomly run into him while he was working. We would always talk for awhile and leave it at that. I was pretty sure he had a girlfriend at the time, but never really knew.
About a year later, I was working as a bartender at Packy's in west Boca. I hadn't seen Bert in a few months, but one night he walked in. He actually walked in through the back door of the restaurant and before I saw it was him, I was thinking to myself, "who does this person think they are, walking through the kitchen?!" lol We sat and talked that night for at least an hour (thank god the place was slow). He finally told me he had a girlfriend who lived with him, but things weren't going well. I was secretly very happy to hear that! After that night, he seemed to come into the bar more and more, on and off duty. My best friend/roommate at the time, Liz, was there one night when he came in. She was talking to him and told him that I liked him. At the time, I was mortified that she just came out and said that, but good thing she did! A few nights later he called me and asked to meet him at the Ale House with him and some friends.
Of course I was like this guy has a girlfriend, what am I doing?! But while at the Ale House, he said that they were on a break from one another and it was the beginning of the end. 2 weeks later, she moved out and they broke up! Woo Hoo! lol
From then on out, we were together all the time, and now 5 1/2 years later, here we are ;)
